Try pinging first with the name of PPC, if it doesnt then try using the IP addresses for ur PPC, if it still doesnt, then probably you cant.

Yeah, im running a Win2003 box too. You don't even need to set-up all of the TS components. A couple of users can just RDP into your box. This is a great way of admin a remote/headless server. If you need more concurrent users then you need to set up your box as a proper TS and you'll need special CAL's too. (TS will only work for 180 days without TS CALS.)
Does the PPC have a RDP/TS client? I thought that you had to use Citrix as it has a PPC client.
Anyway, to get started, on the Windows box set it to use a static IP address. Something in the 192.168.x.x range will do. Do this by setting the TCP/IP properties for the NIC you are using to connect the PPC.
