I wouldn't delete it. One, I don't think you can delete it. Two, there are many exe files in the windows folder that appear to do nothing, but are usually part of the OS. I will warn you however, not to screw around with even running the exes in the windows folder, or do a backup before you do, one of the files deletes all your memory and is the equivalent of a hard reset.

in this situation you should rename it (dont delete it yet), reset and if everything works okay you could delete it... maybe
Last modification: Paul - 05/08/01 at 11:42:53

Yeah, okay. I just wondered because it wasn't there before... - or better the last time I did a hard reset

You could do a hard reset? Save all your information, so you can send it all back to your PDA afterwards. After the hard reset, if nk.exe is still there, DON'T mess with it.

Um, that's the Windows CE kernel. It's about as necessary to your Pocket PC as your heart is to you. :) Even if you tried to delete the file it would be in use...

Dan East

Ahh, my File Explorer must have hidden that file because it was necessary. That's kind of like Explorer.exe for your Windows 9x computer, huh?

That's it! I just installed PExplorer - it doesn't hide it...
Thanks a lot!
