I just got my iPAQ 3760..
the instruction says charging the unit for at least 3 hours...
I plug it in for 10 hours...
Then It ran about 2 & 1/2 hours...
(Runing regular programs, setting up, install new programs... w/automatic backlight setting "but I ran it at night.. so the backlight was pretty bright..")
the next couple days... it ran about 3 1/2 hours....

I haven't put on any sleeve and pc card hard drive yet...

is the time normal??... (it feels pretty short..)
Will the decrease after I get the sleeve and card??

Thanks a lot!!

it depends.. i use my backlight at low (if i need a backlight).. it depends what you are doing... watching vids, etc..

so, the battery life should increase after a few recharges (it's a weird battery)..

the pccard sleeve will increase your battery life... (it has a built in battery)... but the cf sleeve will just leach off the main battery.

Bought my ipaq couple weeks ago...my battery life ...dido...I bought a 64mb cf memory card, really happy with my purchase. its very low powered. now im saving for a 512cf memory card(keep 64 for ipaq backups or all mp3)...it all depends on what memory card your thinking of using. eg the micro drive has moving parts thus sucks your batteries. I did check out the pcmcia sleeve, boy its bulky and dam heavy... Im also looking in upgrading my cf sleeve to a sliver slider. i think cf is the way to go...soon to be released are 1gigs cf. cf far more durable been that you can hotswap, it can withstand a 10feet drop onto cement, and dosent add bulk to your ipaq, and dosent turn your ipaq into a ugly duckling.

love my ipaq...battries in any gadgets, phones to laptops, pdas always have been a problem...cant wait till they build a battery that will last for a month with out recharge.

Today, I bought an I-Paq 3130.

One of the shop-people recommended me to charge the batteries for 15 hours, use the batteries without recharge until they are completely empty, and after that another 15 hours charge.
That's a bad idea. Charge it as often as possible. Whenever it gets half way down start charging again, or atleast whenever it's convenient. (Just don't leave it in when it's fully charged).

Atleast this is what I heard. Can anyone verify this?

Don't know about leaving it too much in the cradle, but it's good to recharge it as often as possible. But I would like to know if too much cradle time may damage the battery.

If anything, its good to leave it in the cradle. Once its done charging, it will stop. And that way the internals of your ipaq that require power to hold your memory dont use the battery

Or just buy a bunch of those instant chargers that Moose mentioned in another thread somewhere.

Those things are damn cool. I'm gonna buy a few.
