PocketZip/Clik w/ PCMCIA on Ipaq

Though Iomega seems to be in the works for PPC "Clik" drivers, the prospect of their completing the task as become less and less real. about a month ago, Iomega had a dedicated site that proposed PPC drivers on the Ipaq. About a week ago however, the site dissappeared. The only way that I can tell that the project MAY be underway is in the "recent updates" section of the downloads page, under "upcoming drivers". Are there any non-iomega written "clik" drivers? thanks.<br>

Yeah, the only compromise to using a clik drive over compact flash is the file transfer time, but since it Clik media costs about 1/5th as much as CF (and because iomega had a promo that let me get 4 disks and a drive for $50), I thought that it was a good deal. It transfers data at about 200kbps. Thats good enough for MP3 files encoded at 128kbps. I'm actually going to dedicate an entire card to pocket quake wads and arenas and bots etc. Only thing to find out now is if the 200kbps speed will be adequate to run quake... and for that matter, other programs.

The transfer time wouldn't effect PQ. However, using gzipped pak files would be a very bad idea. Your battery would probably be dead by the time PQ finished loading. ;)<br><br>Dan East

Nevertheless, does anybody out there know of an alternative driver for the Clik drive? I guess its unlikely that there is one out there, at least one that is publicly distributed... Drivers? anyone?.

My $50 Clik just came in, too... hover, I've been trying to get mine to work w/my PCMCIA -> CF expander card on my E125.  This would be cool if it worked, but so far, no dice :(<br>
