Is this really going to happen soon? I have heard the rumors, but can't find any facts to support them.

I want to get a new toy, and the HP is lookin' S W E E T! However, I'd hate to buy something @ 206MHz only to see 400Mhz in 6 months.

I think it will come out only in 2002 (maybe to the end of that year). My next toy will be a 400+mHz, so I'll wait some more.

xscale procs will be available in march, but new 400Mhz ppcs wont be out until next june or july. atleast on casios side.

for now, the next casio will be available in october sometime with basically the same form factor as the e-125 32MB ram with a dual mmc/sd and CF slot and a 65k color reflective TFT with a 206strongARM and 32MB flashable rom. the new ipaq is coming in december.. but there doesnt seem to be anything noticeably new on it.

So, basically, unless I feel like waiting until August of next year, I should get the new HP.

The new HP is looking sweet, but I am waiting to see what casio pulls out of the bag. I got an E-125 right now and chose that over the iPaq due to it's 12-bit screen and hardware button problems. At the time of purchase Casio was the only manufacturer to offer D-Pad with working action buttons. Damn that @migo! I wish I had known!!! Oh well, waiting till that 400mhz strong arm comes around.

I have a Casio too, and to date it is my favorite, with @migo being a close second.

The thing is that they are commited to MIPS, so unless they swap teams, which has to happen for them to go 2002, I am going to have to jump to HP.

Kinda sad.
