How to transfer files from old 32 MB to 64 mb Ipaq

I am getting a new 64 mb Ipaq from my company. Anyone know an easy way to transfer what is already in my 32mb model? Is it as easy as doing a backup on the old 32mb and then loading that into the 64mb device, or will that mess up the ROM, etc? I assume the ROM versions would have to match, etc?

I had wanted to avoid dragging lots of files, reinstalling apps, etc. One guy tried the backup old/install onto the new device trick but had some compatibility problems (802.11 card malfunction, etc) I don't think the devices had the same ROM version.

bl

The safest way to do that is old iPAQ --> PC --> new iPAQ.

Actually it was quite simple: CF backup from old iPAQ, restore on new iPAQ. Made sure ROMS were the same, otherwise worked flawlessly.
