The question is: Why?
You wouldn't be able to run any programs but what you wrote. Heck, lots of games that work on CE 3.0 don't work on PPC2002.

damn europeans can't keep their commas and decimal points straight
To tell you the truth, this is the dumbest idea I have ever come across. Give me one good reason why this would be benefitial or cool.

I think that it is stupid. If you want a different os, then usse PocketLinux or something. Making your own WinCE os seems pointless,

I actually made my own OS with PlatBuilder 4.0 and am now happily running Windows CE.Net on my IPAQ.
Fiddled around with a CEPC first and then just found out a way to flash the nk.bin to my 'Paq.
Too easy...

student - go for it. at least for a proof of concept sort of thing. realise that you would probably end up rendering the iPaq useless if you tried flashing it, but if you have the resources (time, money, and patience) it would be a good learning experience.

I totally agree with the last poster, just give it a go if you want to.
I'm, sure you'll learn shitloads from a project like that !
