Sorry about the gigadisk thing, I mean, Whats the difference between the IBM microdrive (the one that has one gig) and the sandisk compactflash one gig capacity? The sandisk one seems much more expensive...so whats the difference?
???

IBM microdrives are mini hard drives, while the Sandisk is flash memory. Flash memory is much more expensive, it's like comparing the prices of RAM in your PC, with the hard disk. The differences between the Microdrive and the Sandisk card, apart from price are that Microdrives are a bit slower because they use physically moving parts to access data, and that they drain the battery quicker for to the same reason. In my personal opinion, i'd prefer a large CF flash card (256mg +) rather than an MD, unless you really need large amounts of storage space.

MicroDrives are also much more susceptible to damage than flash cards. I remember reading in some specs somewhere that a flash card could withstand 1000 G's.
