Something I did with Blender on the Pocket PC

Something I did with Blender on the Pocket PC

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the General Pocket PC forum or the multi-media one, but this forum seemed the most appropriate.

Here's a little something I whipped up on the Pocket PC version of Blender. It was modelled and rendered entirely on the Pocket PC. It's a Work In Progress however.

I was informed that it was structurally unsound, but the solution that was given to me makes it easily fixable. Basically it would involve rotating the dome around so the weight of the dome is supported by the columns.

Ya, if you rotate it so the pillars are between the windows instead of in the middle of the windows then it would be more realistic. But that's AMAZING that the PocketPC with stylus and all could do that. How long did it take to render that image on the PocketPC?

It took me about 2 to 3 minutes to render. Blender uses a scan-line renderer as apposed to a raytracing renderer so it renders a lot quicker. The drawback is that a scan-line renderer doesn't allow for accurate shadows, reflections or refraction, but there are tricks that you could use such as shadow-mapping, environment-mapping and such if you really need shadows and reflections and so forth.
