PocketQuake ran on PocketPC 2000 before PocketPC 2002 was even announced. You'll mostly be okay, and as T1 said, there are plenty of ways to obtain the upgrade.

Okay. Compaq said that they'll give free copies of 2k2 to those who buy new iPAQs in a certain date bracket, right? Well, I bought a new ipaq during that date bracket, but I am not going to pay some inflated shipping price. I am likely just going to download it off of some anonymous peer-to-peer file-sharing network (:cough:morpheus:cough:). Why the heck not? I'm not going to get sued or anything, so I am okay legally (if you look at reality). Morally, well, they offered it for free anyways and I qualified. What is wrong with that, if anything? If Compaq didn't want me to do this, they could've just charged money for the actual upgrade. Compaq should've just given you the option of downloading it so you could pocket your shipping fee. That still ticks me off.
Die, Palm, Die. If that offended you, then get rid of your Palm OS device.
