Ok, I KNOW there have been a million threads on this...but here ya go.

Try it. The big thing here for me was the fact that it has CCF mode meaning that it READS IN PRONTO CONFIG FILES!!!
It's great...

My question is this. Why won't any manufacturer make an IR port that can send a signal about 15ft or more. I mean I know we all want to be able to get the most out of our PPC and I'm sure PPL would love to have that feature. Currently the only PDA on the market with a powerful enough IR port built in for Remote control use is the Sony Clié. (Although I will say the new unit is interesting. But DAMNIT why do they have to use PalmPOS

i think theres either a how-to on replacing the transmitter with your own or some place makes addons for the ipaqs. cant remember where though.

It irritates me too, why Sony have to use the PalmOS for their Clie's. Judging by what they're doing with the underpowered & dated Palms, if they were using WinCE, their devices would easily be the best PPCs on the market. Except they'd probably only support Memory Sticks and no CF slots...

RICoder, I was the last one to start a thread about this, and this still doesn't do me any good. I tried that one, but it's only for ARMS, I have MIPS.

I agree that if Sony where to leave Palm they would do amazing in the PPC industry. I mean the unit shown above has a 320x480 display (black input area is digitally displayed) and the built-in keyboard and digital camera? I mean come on it has the highest powered PalmOS processor to date... a whole 60mhz, but Sony is still able to give it a 15' IR Sender and everything else. What the hell would they be able to do with a StrongARM... or Hell.... an Xscale?
And yes I am scaring myself that I have actually looked into this PDA, but it can't play video yet so...... it ain't for me.
