I have an em-500 (got it really cheap off ebay), the only advantage over the e125 is that it looks nicer and less brick-like (subjective). The e-125 has twice as much RAM (very useful) and a compact flash rather than mmc slot which is better as CF cards are much cheaper per mb then mmc, and u can use things like microdrives that fit in the slot.

I have 2 Em500s and 1 E125. Both are great units and if price has to be the major determinant then go for the cheapest you can get.

However, the E125 has a number of advantages: slightly longer battery life, CF card vs SD card, greater internal Ram (32mb vs 16mb) and it is a little easier to hold and manipulate gamepad, especially if you have larger hands. The E125 remains the best gaming PPC ever made with the Em500 not far behind.
