Like it or not, spelling and grammar do make an impression on people, whether consciously and subconsciously. Sure, what you said is the intended point of language, but people (well, most people)aren't conditioned like that.

I refuse to become unlearned just so that people that were not educated as well as I will suddenly become alright, not even acceptable but wholey the norm, and thus their ignorance becomes "proper."
