Axim, e310

Axim, e310

Postby pretz » Dec 12, 2002 @ 5:54am

OK. Here's the situation I'm kinda in... :P

I can more than afford an e310 right now and will be soon able to afford (one month actually...) the Axim X5 400mhz. What I would appreciate is some advice on which to get... I'm kinda short on xmas money so, hehehe :<? What to do? (Pros and Cons w/out links to other reviews would be nice)

Don't bother with the e310, that's for sure. You can get the Toshiba e740 for $329 on Amazon.com right now, if that makes it any easier to decide :P

But wait another month if all you can afford is some old thing like the e310. You'll be much happier a month from now if you wait then if you're stuck with a two generation old device already.

You lie like rug. It's 500 buck on amazon and then $150 of mail ins for a total of 350 if you do both mail-ins.

hmmm harsh :<

I live in Canada so amazon is useless for me. Unless of course I want to buy a book on pdas... I've decided against the dell 400. It just costs too much! OK. I just realized I may sound insane but it does. Here's why.

Canadian Prices w/tax and any shipin': Dell300(462.98),Dell400(650.00aprox),e310(430.27),e740(800+!!!!damn you canadian shopping...)

The e310... can play movies (divx or whatnot) fairly smooth right!??!?!?! GAH (falls over from pda stress)[/b]

But Pretz lives in Canada, as you can see from his latest post. I would just pay $30 more to get the 300 mhz Axim, Pretz

e310 is way under estimated. The D-PAD on the Axim sucks big time too! The thing is slower than the e310 also. It's big as hell too.

On the negative sides, the e310 is known to crash and not reboot at times. There was a bad batch of those sent. The newer are apparently correct. But with a year warranty you can return it anytime.

Hmmmm, yes yes. I see now.(*pretz's brain explodes)

I guess I'll save up for the X5 400mhz then... it's fast right... so I'm not getting a slower package in a huge box(X5 300). I'd be getting a fairly fast package in a huge box(X5 400). Plus Canadian prices are 33% less when you pay for them with americain dollars. You know this right? I have 430 in my account right now and tomorow is payday.

:< damn the spirit of giving before receiving I WANT MY PDA!!!!
