now i am pretty confused

i got a cd from a friend, the compaq upgrade CD
well
i was going to instal it but the program sayd that my ROM version is 2.20 and the one that it was going to instal is 2.14

does this mean that i already have PPC2002 on my IPAQ ?????

how can i confirm all this ???

I had iPaq 3600 once upon a time, too :] It's ROM version was basically 1.76 and I have upgraded it to version 2.07 [PocketPC 2002]. If the update program says that your version is 2.20, then it's very probable that you already have PocketPC 2002.

i am going to try some thinks that i did not do before because i think that i hade win ce and not ppc

how do i compres video to an format that MP8 for PPC can play ???

Looks like you really have PPC2002 :]

WMP is good only for playing WMV or MP3 files. If you want to watch some longer movies, then you should rather get PocketDivX []. Check out this guide to find out how to compress videos:

Both PPC2000 and PPC2002 run on Windows CE. Your iPaq still has WinCE 3.0.

Don't confuse him Damian. WinCE3.0 is the underlying operating system. PocketPC 2002 is the graphical user interface.
