The BE300 is a PPC Now.

I know it was a huge topic for debate, but this should put it to rest now.

It's nice to have two modes to work in.

Got any screenshots of it actually running in PPC mode though?

That's good to hear. Now the main problem is that the BE-300 is a MIPS "Pocket PC". Since the only Pocket PCs in production are ARM / XScale, developers have been dropping support for the MIPS processor for some time now. All the stats I have heard (plus those I see directly from DEXplor) indicate that the effort and time required to support MIPS is no longer worthwhile.

I'll bet that's just that minimum mode that guy came up with. The screencap looks pretty hacked together. Doesn't even look like a PPC 2000.

Ok so it's a MIPS. So it's PPC 2000. I am never trying to imply it's better ( as my past jokes were not recived well).

When any news or information was passed here about the BE300, it became a complaint trigger to state it was not a PPC. Now it is.

It is not an Xscale , but in the end who cares. It can now run many PPC apps made for the E-125 / EM500 both PPC.

Now this is running under the eXpod hack yes, it is an enhancement to the BE to make it react more like a PPC.
It will now build a Tool bar ( not previously available to BE300's)

As to the Mini-Mode that is a whole different kettel of fish. I will provide first the BE300 running ICQ for PPC with the tool bar showing...

So as you can see it looks just a bit odd to the PPC user, but it looks much the same at the same time.
We can move the taskbar to the top, so the tool bar will sit on the very bottom as it should.

Now as for the mini mode that comes with our new shutdown ability thanks to Win CE 3.0 ( CE shell )

Now if I had a way to cap with menus open I would. I will add some progies to do so soon, using activesync to transport viedo images to the PC for capping.

But like always no matter how many advances we make it is laffed at and scoffed. Oh well Glad I have a thick skin :-)

Hey,
How do you guys get your start button and bar down at the bottom of the screen?

The Start Button and bar are based on the CE 2.11 shell ( much like Win 9X or CE ).

Both the PPC and BE300 use Windows CE 3.0 however you have the PPC shell , and the BE300 has a totaly different shell.......till now.
We stepped backwards a bit to go forward.

We did not move it there the CE 2.11 shell places it there. We then skin the whole bar.

The PPC shell puts and locks a Start Bar at the top of your PPC.

As stated we can move ours, however in " Pocket PC" you are locked, unless you run an App for CE where the Start Bar moves ( eg. Pocket Paint for Win CE 2.11 run on an E-125 , the Start Bar will move to the bottom).
