ActiveSyncing eMail over Wi-Fi and a server

Postby Solarix » Feb 5, 2003 @ 4:47pm

My boss just purchased a new iPaq 5450 w/ WiFi built in. All around nice unit, but I still like my 3950 better. Anyway, our company has 3 different locations all spanning a great distance apart, so we VPN to get into our Outlook data. He wants to be able to have his iPaq connected via WiFi (which is already done) and when he gets a new email, he wants instant notification on his iPaq and then be able to view the message.

Does anyone know how this should be done? Does ActiveSync need to be installed on the server? Any help is appreciated.

Uhm... just set up the Inbox application on his PocketPC and leave it running set to autocheck his email. Or is that what the server does? If the server automatically receives all his email then yes, the server needs ActiveSync installed and set to sync every so often.
