Just curious, since I read many reviews saying there are none. So can it or can it not? For example, if I play a game, I can move in NE instead of N and E. The review said it tried Pocket Quake and it didn't work....please let me know since I am thinking of buying it.

Exactly. There is no way to tell if you've got an 8-way or a 4-way DPad because IT DOESN'T MATTER.
