I have seen the Axim, and I must say, it is indeed to large for my taste. It is important to point out that I am spoiled by the 1910. But I had someone in at staples today comparing it with all the other unit sizes trying to find a case for it, and it was bigger than all the other units(wider and thicker, but not taller).

Well i cant go against you when it comes to the size compared to a lot of other ppc´s.
On the other hand i would be lying if i said that i think the Axim feels big to carry around, because how many cm³ are we realy talking about here?

:o)

The thing is that it's wider than all other PocketPCs, and thicker, too. It may have a small cubic cm size than the iPaq, but that doesn't mean it's smaller in the dimensions that count. I still wouldn't call it a brick though.

not sure in cms, but in inches:

Axim X5 = 5.0 x 3.2 x 0.7 inches = 11.2 cubic inches
iPAQ 3955 = 5.3 x 3.2 x .6 inches = 10.17 cubic inches
Genio e550g = 4.92 x 3.01 x .62 = 9.18 cubic inches
Vox Maestro = 4.92 x 3.05 x .69 = 10.53 cubic inches
Toshiba e740 = 4.9 x 3.1 x .6 = 9.11 cubic inches
Toshiba e310 = 4.9 x 3.1 x .47 = 7.13 cubic inches
iPAQ1910 = 4.46 x 2.75 x 0.50 inches = 6.13 cubic inches

they are just some units, but the interesting thing is, units like the iPAQ 3900 series dont look so ... mmm... "bricky", and it is cuz it got a 3.8" screen, now, just see the genio e550g... it got dual slots and 4" diagonal screen, and it is even smaller than the Axim.!!!

So the Axim DOES have the MediaQ? Maybe that's why the performance is slightly on the crappy side...

And another observation is that the XScale in the 300 MHz Model actually says "300" on it... so it apparently is not an underclocked 400 (well, I already disproved that) nor an overclocked 200. Of course, the "300" at the end could be purely coincidental.

But the SH3 looks so much better than the XScale :D
