Chriva, you're a loon.

You really think it's possible to emulate a 100MHz, 100MFLOP, 64bit processor on a FPU-less 32bit CPU at 200MHz (that probably only manages 2 or 3MFLOPs running at fill tilt)?

.. and that's before we throw the custom graphics chips and memory bandwidth into the equation.

Why don't you use your brain before you post these "ideas"?

Cheers,

Ok. Explain the reasoning you're using to think it's possible to emulate the PS1 on a PPC?

I'd think that the SA would have a hard time emulating the PS's R3000A processor at full speed, without emulating the GTE, GPU, decompression engine, audio etc on top...

psx is a snes with cd rom drive ya fool!! can a ppc emulate a snes? YES IT CAN !! THEN IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE TO EMULATE PSX!!

Ummmm... the SNES has a 3.7MHz 16-bit chip for a CPU with some extra graphics and audio chips lurking around to lighten the burden.

Comparing the PSX (aka Playstation 1) to a "SNES with a CD" is ludicrous. Ok, so originally it was meant to be one, but Nintendo pulled out of its development and Sony bolted on a lot of extra horse-power (notably 3d graphics hardware) before they sold it.

(Perhaps an admin would like to move this topic out of the job offers forum :) ).

If you give me 10,000 dollars now, in 15 years, I will give you a complete port of it. Deal :?:

well, a psx emulator IS possible, as me and ROB are working on one... and so is some other guy... N64 though, forget about it.
BTW these things dont have FPU units...

and N64 uses the same architecture as the NECVR4121 just like the casio E-125, MIPS64, and on a 200mhz E-740 o/ced to 300mhz, you could emulate N64 on it very nicely!! :)
