Jornada 820

Postby Bebaer » Mar 25, 2003 @ 6:19am

When I try Latest official, In windows, I have the answer that my device in not supported.
When I try versions for HPC, or version for Pocket pc ARM, directly on Jornada 820, I have the message: "Didn't find the file" . It's the message I have when I try to run a cab that was compiled for SH3 or Mips on my ARM Jornada.
:(

Can someone help me?
Will it be a version one day?
I don't know about compiling programs for my jornada, if someone can explain me? or give me web site about that topic?
Thank you very much and long live to pocketscumm :D

Ok, from what I can tell, there is no version of GameX for any ARM processor/platform. However, there is a Dummy GX.dll for the Jornada 720, 820, etc.

The config file for the Jornada 820 (Jap) says that:
# gx.dll.ini for HP Jornada 820 (Japanese model) 256 colors mode

framebuffer 0xb0100010

#display properties - see gx.h
cxWidth 640
cyHeight 480
cbxPitch 1
cbyPitch 640
cBPP 8
ffFormat 0x10

Have you tried compiling the Jornada 720 / 820 version with the DummyGX???

It should be a matter of just compiling a WinCE 2.11 version with the gx.lib and gx.h from the PocketPC toolkit???

DummyGX

DummyGX is located at:

http://www.age.jp/~k-matsu/CE/dummygx/

(its the first link on that page). There are some links on the web about getting PocketPC software running on the Jornada 720... They might be of some help, but the J720 runs WinCE 3.0, not WinCE 2.11, so I doubt you can do the same thing on the J820.

Yeah, I found that out myself. :( Did you notice that the tar gzipped source on the sourceforge page doesn't include all the directories? I had to pull it in via CVS to get all the missing/sys directories.

Incidentally, what functions did you have to add/substitute, to get PocketScumm running under WinCE 2.11 (HPC Pro) ??? There are a quite a few functions that WinCE 3.0 provides, that aren't in 2.11, right?
