GapiDraw and TileStudio - creating character sprites

Hi everyone,

I'm just getting started with GapiDraw and I've been looking through the Demos that come in the package. I've managed to get things moving round the screen and some other basic stuff. I would like to be able to create an animated character that can walk round the world like the one in TileDemo. My question is this:

Should I (1) use TileStudio to create the sequence for the animation or (2) do it purely in GapiDraw?

Using method (1) I have managed to create a stationary animated character but I can't work out how to change the coordinates of the character sprite so he can move around.

I am a bit of a newbie to this stuff so please forgive my ignorance! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ta.
