Rapture Engine Technology Demo

I just made a technology demo available of my Rapture Engine. The Rapture Engine is a fully 2D isometric engine very similar in performance and capabilities to the engine used in Age of Empires.

I began this project back in 2001, but got sidetracked and never got back to it. I pulled it out of mothballs yesterday and did some architectural changes and brought it up to date with GapiDraw. This is now a work in progress.

If you would like to see a couple screenshots and/or download the ARM/XScale version, you can do so at the PocketPC Studios website in the Developers/Downloads sections. If you have any comments/complaints/suggestions, fire off an email to me. =)

[April 15] Also rolled in my sprite engine and implemented a rudimentary sprite based GUI.

[April 15] Added full support for water and the associated fringe tiles (water->grass). I put up a few more screenshots and updated the demo download as well. A history is now included in the installation readme.

[April 12] Added support for water, as well as some minor architectural changes. I have a map editor written for DirectX that I will port over to the ppc sometime as well.

Fire me off an email if you're interested in licensing the Rapture Engine, and we can discuss it.

I'm currently working on an object handler list that will allow for easier implementation of animated objects in world space(ie trees, troops, etc). This would be in conjunction with the standard sprite engine thats already rolled in that handles sprites in screen space (ie gui components).

You can find my email address in my forum profile (click the profile link at the bottom of this message).
