Fullscreen woes

Fullscreen woes

Postby EpicBoy » Jun 10, 2003 @ 5:58am

I'm using GapiDraw 2.0 on Windows XP with a Radeon 9700 card (although I also tested this on a GeForce4 with the same results).

Whenever I specify GDDISPLAY_FULLSCREEN in my OpenDisplay function call, it does indeed go fullscreen but it goes REALLY slow. Like, single digit framerates. Running in a window is perfectly smooth.

Now, is there something else I have to do here? My understanding is that fullscreen uses hardware acceleration so it seems ludicrous that it would go slower than software mode -- not even slower, it's an order of magnitude slower.

I've obviously got some botched setting or something somewhere but have no idea where to look.

Anyone have any gotchas they'd like to share?

Thanks!
