Hi Wayne, unless you write your own engine you will not get the features you want today for PocketPC. I use PocketGL which is the best off the shelf at present. OpenGL ES is still at the spec stage ( see Kronos group )

If you do write your own engine you will spend lots of time on that prior to writing a game.

My advice is to base your game around what you can actually achieve. This is not the PC world where you pick up your engine, level editor etc over a weekend & start writing a game on Monday morning. If you have the time & maths skills you should roll your own otherwise waiting for OpenGL ES may be the best path.
