This is a good one. . And it's good for more than just game programming, it goes through the entire process.
seems like a good book if you just want to learn Windows programming and MFC (whatever that is ;D). But read the customer reviews to see if it's what you want.

I'm kind of partial to this "Unleashed" series of books, although I have never once bought one. Actually, so far I haven't listed a single book I have bought...
This book I do have. Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus. And so far it's been nothing but easy reading. Although he does assume you know some things that I don't know. But you'll pick them up while reading. Great book. It also comes with Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 Introductory Edition for free on a CD within the book. It has no limitations, but does show a message that it was compiled on an Intro Version of C++ and shouldn't be distributed.
