Hi,

We've found a few issues with your font:
- When loading it in a normal surface (no RGBA) there is no image loaded
- Because there are no lines above each font character you would think that it's a fixed size font. However, the font characters doesn't seem to be evenly distributed horizontally over the image

Are you sure you've created this image with the makefont tool?

Font Maker tool were not used. We followed following instructions from your tutorial:

"First, let's prepare a source image file. Download the text file containing the 128 basic font characters or the extended text file, open it and copy them to the clipboard. Then open a graphic editing program (like Windows Paint or Photoshop) and use the text tool to write these font characters in the image. Take a greedy approach with the spacing between each font character, the EDGELIB Font tool won't be able to recognize the font characters when they are too close to each other. The minimal amount of spacing between each font character can be adjusted in the program with the tolerance option."

In tutorial regarding Font Organizer there is no any references to Font Maker tool at all. As result for preparing font we used Photoshop which we are familiar with.

What do you mean by "normal surface"? Why RGBA is not acceptable? In case if no alpha channel can be used overall font will looks ugly :-/

There are also no any info regarding the lines above each character, so we expected that application will recognize each character automatically with use of spaces between each character which seems logic.

Please, clarify what requirements for image which can be used with Font Organizer.

Hi,

The EDGELIB font maker is a new tool and isn't documented yet. It will automatically generate a (variable width) font image from a truetype font which you can adjust in photoshop.

RGBA is actually the preferred choice, I mentioned the normal surface problem because you could be using that (and it can't load the image on a normal surface, while RGBA works fine).

For the font generator tool, which options did you enable? Because the tool should scan your image for font characters and output a new image with lines above each font character to indicate their width.

I didn't change any params and used application with default values to analyze image. Can you clarify what should be changed in provided font to make it be usable by Font Organiser? What requirements for sources to generate usable in edgelib font?
