Crystal Balls

Crystal Balls

Postby Phantom » Nov 9, 2001 @ 8:49am

I did a small game last week, 'Crystal Balls'. It will hopefully be available next week (for purchase). I'll post a demo, of course.

The basic idea of the game is this: You see two bounding balls (VERY realistically rendered, you'll see). You shoot them with a spear, using a small dude at the bottom of the screen. When you hit 'm, they split. They do that two times, after that they disappear. Kind of Asteroids with bouncing balls. :) There are bonusses and so on to keep it interesting, and varying gravity, stuff like that.

Anyway, I intend to sell this game for about $10, but people get it for free with The Nutcracker. :) I'll clearly state that on the CNet product page; and I'll probably do two more games like this, with the same intention (basically, a marketing instrument). Finally I'll bundle the three and hope it becomes as popular as Peter's Gamebox. :)

Well just wanted to announce it. Demo next week.

- Jacco.

Also sounds a little like Demon Attack for the Atari 2600. It had flying creatures that when shot whould form two smaller creatures. That was one of my favorite 2600 games.

Dan East

John,

Thanks for telling me the name of the original. :) I played a clone on the Amiga once, but I can't even remember the name of the clone. :) I'll see if I can find the original somewhere, to get some more inspiration (although the game is quite finished already).

- Jacco.
