First of all, the graphics aren't that great anyway. As expected, the cinematics look good. I also don't rank a game based on graphics. Thats just pure stupidity.
I rented it because...god, look at the comercial. Its Final Fantasy with Disney characters and environments. Gotta be curious

The basic driving factor for buying this game is how well the two companies blended their material. You'd never expect Hades and Cloud having a conversation, or Goofy and Donald fighting Cerberus. Most of the voice acting is authentic and top notch. This provides an immersive gameplay environment.
The story is also well-told. I can't really explain this. Its kind of a playing experience type thing. Me and my friends who have the game were hooked until we finished the game. Some of them weren't fans of either company.
This doesn't mean the story is original though. Pretty linear if you ask me. Its the basic, rid the universe of darkness, find your friends, Disney story. I could tell what was going to happen in certain parts of the game, but I was interested in finding out what would happen next. This game is like a book, even if it's the most original idea created, if it isn't written well, it's crap.
As for comparison vs Final Fantasy series, it can and can't be compared. It's a real time fighting rpg and a major difference it is. You can even die while whipping out that crucial potion. It does hold a strong resemblance to FF. Same magic names, use of abilities, and even a dozen FF characters from FF 7 and 10 and MOOGLES!

One point in the game has a string of boss battles. Very FF-esque.
I believe that Kingdom Hearts is about as good as most of the FF games. Some of the FF's are better of course. Theres going to be a sequel to KH too, because the ending sort of left you hanging. Theres a trailer for it at the end when you collect the 99 lost Dalmations, finish the 100 acre wood book (Pooh!

), and beat the Hades Cup (tournament with 50 rounds of pure madness). Whoever conceived the idea of this game was on crack, but he was on the good kind
