Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."

The Kazaa lite I have doesn't take out any ad's, just the spyware, so it's totally fair to the devs. Theres just no spy peoples taking my credit card number :P

While we're on the subject of P2P file-sharing, what systems do people use?

I've tried:

Kazaa 2 (will try 2lite later today)

Seems really temperamental and having a 1MBit download and 128KBit upload means that unless I cheat my participation is pretty-much zero. It also starts downloads fast but after about 20 minutes everything's at 0.34KB/s or something. Fishy.

DirectConnect

Seems pretty good. Fast speeds, but hubs seem to go in and out and the download queue doesn't say which hub the file was originally found on...

EDonkey

Doesn't work through my proxy because it can't cope properly with proxies.

So, anything else that's any good?

Cheers,

Ref.

Here some of my comments on each (I'm using them all lol):

-----
Kazaa 2 lite (if you don't want the spyware):
Really easy to use. Support multi-source download. Have a lot of common stuff. Easy users manager.

Direct connect:
Unlike Kazaa, this program is hub centered. You have to choose a specific hub to be able to search. And some hub force user to share a certain amount of files. A lot of rare stuff. If you want Anime, this is the ultimate place to go :P Has chat room. It's the less user friendly of all p2p program.

SoulSeek:
Only for mp3s, you can found a lot of rare mp3s on this p2p application. Do not support multi source download. Has chat room :) and a good buddy list options.

WinMX:
Like kazaa.
