It's all about the right tool for the job. The Pronto has a powerful IR port...and some models sport RF. Also, it is set up purely for the role of remote control.
The macros are cool, and the graphics are good, and the software to modify it is nice as well. I'll post some pics so you can see.
Also, the $1800 (and it may be a diff price) is a flat panel the size of a laptop screen. That one is more for the full home automation market and runs w/ X-10 and some other stuff. Plus it allows web surfing. Links Follow:
