I think audotocracy is cool and not formal at all. It's like those punks that where zoot suits all the time, it's not really formal, but it's cool because it's different. The domain doesn't really matter, and if you want to branch out then buzzworks works well.

pardon my ignorance, but what's the "to" doing in "audiotocracy"?

But yeah, I think it's a good idea. Doesn't sound too formal at all... less formal than "Buzzworks" if anything.

"Audiotocracy" comes from "Meritocracy."

I think 'tocracy' is a Latin root meaning a system of ranking something, but I have no idea.

Hmm... well, "cracy" means goverment. I always thought "meritocracy" meant a government based on merit, but I guess not.

What about "audiocracy", then?

I was considering whether it should be Audiotocracy or Audiocracy, I'll ask someone who knows. Maybe RIC knows? He's big on Latin.

Anyway, yeah, so I've had a few more suggestions by friends, and here's the list of possibilities (nothing excluded, no matter how dumb it was):

Buzzworks
Audiotocracy (Audiocracy)
Audiowire
Rockstar
Rumourmill
