There's no such thing as a "half partition". Windows doesn't try to mount every partition. The problem was the Windows bootloader, which probably didn't account for the changes in the partition table and tried to boot from the wrong one. Simply editing the windows boot.ini would've fixed the problem, I reckon. :P

no, the problem is that I had a half-created partition... so I had the computer allocate 3 gigs on the harddrive to it, yet, the 3 gigs were still being allocated to my main drive. That causes problems when both drives try to take the same space- and Windows doesn't like problems. It called it a security threat and halted the system every time i booted up.
