New Car

Postby David Horn » Jul 11, 2003 @ 11:08am

Meh, don't talk to me about digital radio. It's taking off in the UK, but if you get say, a tree, or a person, or a bird or something between the transmitter the signal drops out. What's more, even though it's digital some stations still transmit compressed, 128kb/s streams. AND you don't get hiss or crackles on a bad reception - it's either perfect or unlistenable.

In other news, I bought an MP3 CD player for my car - Blaupunkt and only £169.
Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."

That's why the tuners come with buffers. Mine has a 4 second buffer, others have up to 30 seconds. I'm sure you'll pass out from under a bird in under 4 seconds if you're going 60 mph. I live in a rural swampy area, so there are plenty of overhanging trees. The signal only drops once on my ride to work, when I pull into the parking garage, and it even picks up some signal inside the garage, which is incredible.

Ya, cameron, the Pulse is decent. I listened to CNBC and Planet Jazz on the way in this morning. During the news breaks on CNBC I'd switch over to Planet Jazz for a quick song or two.
