Beck, Sister Hazel (While their second and third albums were with Universal, they've since gone independent), and Dashboard Confessional, Liz Phair, etc.. Don't get me wrong, rhapsody doesn't have near the indie music you'll find on p2p networks, but their selection if fairly decent.

Sandmann: I guess it just depends on the radio in your area. The station a lot of my friends and I listen to is still locally owned, so they play actual music (mostly alternative rock artists like Jewel, Matchbox 20, Train, Sheryl Crow, Mellencamp*, and hits from the 90's). Since they're locally owned, they'll also play a lot of non - as sponge puts it - clearchannel music. Since they do that, Sister Hazel has actually gets a lot of airtime (Scott, one of the Z995 DJ's is a hazelnut, so that prolly helps), and are fairly popular in the indianapolis area. So popular, that we're actually trying to set up a hazelnut group.

*Mellencamp gets air time because he's a native Hoosier. His music sucks, and he's an ass.
