I just heard something on the news about "leap seconds" so I typed that into google because it sounded interesting and this page came up at the top:
But apparently, every day is 1.5ms shorter than the last thanks to the earth's rotation slowing down. This is why we have a leap day every 4 years, or about every 1500 days.
There's some stuff going around about the earth not being too old because of the earth's rotation slowing down, so that's why it's here.
