I've been underwhelmed by all the cross pens I've tried. The normal ones are too skinny and weird ones with the adjustable grips are too big. If a G2 and any cross pen I've ever used were placed before me, I'd pick up the G2.
I've had a few of Fisher's cheapy pens. They all had dual springs on the retracter button, and that was pretty cool. And the ink cartridges on those 10 dollar pens were superior to anything I've seen out of Cross.
I really don't like pencils; pens look better and tend to encourage better pensmanship (for me, at least).
