I've had a play with desktop thingies at work today. So far:

LiteStep - crashes far too often. Most themes seem to hate multiple monitors.

Aston - looks nice, but things either don't work or work strangely on the second monitor (it says in their forum they're "working on" multi-monitor support.

WinBlinds - too slooow.
