Terran beat Protoss because of their concussive shield-reducing weapons, zerg beat terran with numbers and melee units, protoss are equally good against both. All races can beat each other when used correctly, though. I actually enjoy diversity.... all of WC2's units where identical except for their looks. A footman and grunt had the same attack, speed, and armor. Don't get me wrong, I bought WC2 on opening day and played it until my CD broke, but I personally found StarCraft more interesting.

Starcraft was a masterpiece that's all there was to it. One of the coolest things about SC was the huge learning curve (not necessarily steep). You could play it for several months, and still be picking up something with each evenly game. People who dislike Starcraft are supporting terrorists.
