How about anywhere?
$99 is MSRP, and the Zelda disk is a Nintendo bonus so all dealers that sell GameCubes should be offering it.

The Gamecube outsold the other systems over the Thanksgiving selling weekend.

Hardly surprising.

Over here, a gamecube costs 99 euro. A gameboy costs 130, a PS2 pack w/ 1 game around 210 and an XBOX pack around 180 euro.

So, if you're buying a system for your kids, which one would you pick? A gameboy, which is purely single player, small screen, not that many really good games, and it's more expensive then a GameCube.. PS2 and XBOX are usually a bit too expensive as gifts, so by virtue of lowest pricing, game cube wins.

Hell, even I'm tempted to get one, they're so cheap nowadays! I already own every other system there is to own, except GC. My brother owns one though, but he's such a fanboy, I don't want to buy one just because he likes it so much. Always talking shit about XBOX or PS2, and doesn't have the first clue about sales figures or basic economics..

Oh well. Anyway. It's a smart move, dropping the price to 99 dollars. Now they'll start selling a lot more of those GC's. The gamecube is a kiddy console and now the kiddys [or parents of] can actually afford to buy one, and nintendo will make a bundle on all those Zelda's and Pokemon's sold this Q4 anyway.

Indeed. If you want to play old sidescroller mario's, you're better off emulating them on PC or even PPC rather then buying them again at full price. If I'm paying 50 euro for a game, I'm going to buy the best ones out there - not old mario remakes.

True, bjorn, but the GBA has its fair share of non-mario remakes, too.

Take Mario and Luigi for example. One of the best Mario games I've ever played, beating out even, dare I say, SMB3.
