Okay, this game seriously owns...

The second level switches to a behind the ship view, for total StarFox joy! I'm having difficulties beating the 2nd boss, they really take a lot of hits.

Oh, btw, in order to get points for the kill, you have to collect the rainbow-ish colored "coins" that come out and fly towards you when eliminated. I thought they were projectiles at first (can you blame me?).

The patterns in this are quite more challenging than Turjah2.
Any chance of a future release with textured units? Besides that it looks cool, I just grabbed it off their site.

well I just played it and I must say the screenshots make this game look lame but it was actually quite fun(and challenging). My only gripes are he lack of sounds and textures. Is this game a sorta beta of an upcoming game? or is this the full release?

Matt:

I think this may be a beta. Not too sure tho.

I am in love with this game. I mean it's just soo hard core! I'm so sad, I'm playing ChiRaKS more than SuperMarioAdvance, I love shooters danmit!

This game officially OWNZ. Level two really pleased me with the behind the ship view. Level 3 floored me with the insane, yet wonderful challenge. These ideas are so refreshing, its scary. Here we are with TurjahII, and it still hasn't got half the challenge, or ingenuity of ChiRaKS.

BTW- I'm sorry about not noticing this was EM700 only. I'm so jaded, my eyes only went so far as to read iPAQ next to the installer file. I saw MIPS, and assumed it would work for any Casio.

CHIRAKUSU WA ICHIBAN DESU!!!!
ChiRaKs 0wNz ME!

Postby 999 » Jun 30, 2001 @ 8:14pm

Okay, I'm a StarFox nut. I mean I absolutely love any incarnation of that shooter, and it's imposters, like Silpheed.

Anywhoo, take a look at this goodness:
Image

It's like a top-down StarFox... joy...

I'm pushing 155.98 frames in turbo mode, and am locked at about 30fps when running normally. It's tiny and you should check it out like now.

BTW- it has an onscreen control pad you negotiate with your stylus. Think of the "Mlook" area in PocketQuake, same thing practically. Works damn nice too.

Last modification: 999 - 06/30/01 at 17:14:51

Okay, apparently someone named "auger" in Japan has also taken a liking to this game.

Check out his online Strategy Guide for ChiRaKS.

This page is also a good chance for those who can't play it, or who are skeptical, a nice look at how ingenious this little shooter really is.

The fact that there's strategy involved in this game should say a lot ;)
I'm not sure, I think Matt has an @migo doesn't he? Well, it worked on that, so maybe there's a chance the MIPS version will work on any Casio.

I don't know why it would be specific to the E700, it's not like it's got special button maps, the game doesn't use any.

Can a MIPSer out these give this game a shot?
I got Chiraks on my EM-500 and it runs perfectly. This is an interesting little game. I'll have to start playing it more :)
Two cupcakes were in an oven. One turned to the other and said "Damn, it sure is hot in here" and the other one said "HOLY SHIT! A TALKING CUPCAKE!"
