Brig, I appreciate your points and why you think Clark is the right guy for you. Having said that, I don't see him as the 'great military leader' that you do...but that is a different argument.

Look man, it breaks down like this. The guy ran shit in Kosovo, and that is pretty impressive. Other than that, there ain't much to his career. I respect the man, and the general. However, I see Kosovo as a direct result of Bosnia, which we had little if any business being involved in. I am torn on the issue a great deal, because I think the war went well, but I wasn't fond of the method by which it was executed, mostly from reports I got from friends in places who knew what they were talking about. On the other hand, he faught in the balkins and won...you can't argue with that.

I guess, in the end, when I see him speak, I don't get a warm-fuzzy from him. I get a guy who is willing to take cheap shots...and maybe that is my point.

I look at the Bush family and I hear the things that don't get reported. I think of Bush senior telling Barbara Walters that if he could come back as anyone, it would be Barbara Bush's second husband. I see senior as a president who left office and quietly retired like all the good ones do...compared to fuck-faced clinton and carter. I see junior as a guy that the troops love and that, while he can't speak well in public, always does a great job when it is from his heart. I see junior as a guy who doesn't throw out blame at other people when shit goes wrong, even though he has the opportunity. I respect a man who can walk away from the cheap shot and not cheapen himself, as easy as it would be. That to me is the measure of a man, not the rhetorical crap, not the throwing rocks from afar knowing you agree with that which you throw rocks at...

Unfortunately, we don't live in a world where character equates to good skills as a President. It's a good thing that the troops respect Bush, the administration has done alot for the military. I like Rumsfeld, that guys all badass.

Bush without the spending would be okay. I don't know how well you've read my points, if you've read them at all. This country is facing serious money issues, and Bush is hurting more than helping.

It would be nice if Bush would tell us that he's spending the money, rather than cutting taxes and asserting that his party is about small federal government.

Money counts. Our nation is built on capitalism. I won't sit back and allow the government to bloat and thus cause inefficiency in the economy. Bush is crap in the fiscal department--whether you choose to accept it or not. The guy spends like the Dems are supposed to spend. The guy is all about big government, and that is unacceptable.

It's great that you have an emotional outlook; however, you should learn not to let it overcome your reasoning. Emotion is a luxury to be indulged in when business is done.
