Well, before you make a new page, you want to determine what is right and wrong with the old one.

Here are a few of the things I like:
- navigation - I can immediately see how to get to where I want to be
- clean and simple - not cluttered
- modern...
- good ratio of colour/contrast to design

The things I don't...
- the top banner - doesn't integrate well with the rest of the design
- the right hand column - seems distracting
- central column doesn't look like it has any significance over the other two columns. It should - it holds the body of the page!
- login box and language setting should perhaps be located better
- 'Modules'? Geekeh.

The main thing I don't like is the central column. The page draws me away to the side columns - when in fact I really want to be looking at the central one.

The login prompt should be in the top of the right hand column. And the language selector should be in that same box.
