But HTML really isn't programming like C++ and so on is. Hell, HTML shouldn't even be used to layout, it was made as a way to specify formatting, not something strict.
holy internets batman.

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

EditPad Lite is my personal favorite.

I made http://www.new-life.us completely with Notepad, though.

I can respect people who prefer to code their pages. I would associate those people in being proficient at Math, and other analitical facets of life.

On the other hand, I believe there are visual people, whom are more tactile than the aforementioned. I am one of these people, and although I can understand the html, I can get a better visual of the outcome by working in a WYSIWYG. It is by no means better than an Editor, but it does allow me to work in a manner which is more conducive to my work environments like Photoshop, Quark, Image Ready and so on. My graphic applications do not require me to code where I want pixels displayed, so I would prefer that my HTML authoring program follow suit to streamline my workflow.

It all comes down to workflow in the real world of design, and for me, a wysiwyg is what keeps my pace jumping from application to application, and that keeps my clients happy.
