Bout' time for another 'Music Thread'

I don't generally listen to anything made in the past decade or so. Give me Bee Gees, America, or even the odd Boney M song - no techno, boybands, or that soft elevator music crap..

I actually haven't heard of the bands that chuck mentioned, either, with the exception of New Pornographers. And I know a LOT of obscure bands.

What kind of post-punk are those bands, chuck? The Interpol/Joy Division kind? The British Sea Power kind? The Drive Like Jehu kind? The Unwound kind? etc?

Two cupcakes were in an oven. One turned to the other and said "Damn, it sure is hot in here" and the other one said "HOLY SHIT! A TALKING CUPCAKE!"

Lately I've been listening to some more different stuff because Mr. Feliu (the world's coolest teacher) started a 'music clinic' at my school, and he both got me some more obscure stuff and got me back into listening into different music instead of the same stuff over and over again.

Indigo - Furioso is the fucking coolest CD ever. It's hard to find (some nobody French band from 1993...), but it's well worth it if you can get your hands on it. They're just 6 guys (and in some songs they have either drums or a piano or whatever), and they do all their own accompaniment, etc. It's just really cool. They do some more well-known songs (Shake the Disease, Happy Together, I Got Plenty O' Nuttin), and some other really cool stuff of their own.

Dancemania is a series of Japanese dance CDs. It's a bit hard to get your hand on these unless you go to an importer, but they're great. Everything's nonstop remixed, so it sounds really cool if you listen to it on your computer or a CD player that doesn't have a gap in between tracks. Right now I'm listening to Dancemania Speed Christmas (the Speed means that everything's fast), which is incredibly funny and kickass at the same time. It's christmas songs, but super fast and all dancey-ravey-ish.

Zombie Prom. Though most people fear the dreaded Broadway showtune, Zombie Prom is my easily my favorite musical of all time. It's a spoof of Grease and 50's horror movies. Cliche music, GREAT lyrics, and it's hilarious. Impossible to find unless you get it off of Amazon or from Samuel French.

Kill Bill OST is a great CD. It's got a bunch of really interesting stuff. I don't have much else to say about it other than it's different in a good way.
