The only people left to write history are those that won the wars or suppressed the meak. How can we get any perception other than the dominant one? How do you define "facts?" If I win a war I can make some claim that I had a right to 'defend' myself and write it in any history book I want to write it in. How can you even KNOW what is a "fact."

I'm definitely going to watch or.. or perhaps get the special edition DVD or something :D I wrote an article about it ages ago - so I'd like to see what all the shouting and namecalling is all about.

My great grandfather was at Pearl Harbor that fateful day. He had the fear in his heart as he was mercilessly divebombed over and over with strafing runs of machinegun fire; he saw his friends get torn to shreds, he felt the bullets in his back and legs, he saw the battleships get bombed. On the other side of the world my other grandfather was POW in a Japanese camp for SIX YEARS. He was tortured for SIX years. It took him SIX years of pain and misery to find a way to escape that camp. He bears the scars of his brutal beatings to this day. I personally find it hard to forgive such evil acts; the Americans weren't the bad guys, it was the Germans and Japanese. Don't give me this crap, facts are facts, and the fact is that Japan started it, America and its allies ended it.

But it was in no way black and white. We took our own citizens and rounded them up in camps.

What the fucking hell? Are you on crack? It’s against the damn constitution to hold American Citizens like that! We were in a war with eErmany not US citizens that came from Germany. Same with Japan. What do you think now, that we should take every Muslim person and put them in a camp? Everyone and their mom have admitted that what we did was wrong, why can't you?

Those are my feelings towards the issue, and yes, seggregation was still rampant in the forties, and yes, that wasn't a nice thing to do, and no, we shouldn't put all the Muslims into camps because a majority of the people can look past exterior appearances nowadays. But I do think it was a cowardly act that got them a nuke up thier asses.

And when did I mention ANYTHING at all about German citizens in the US?

If you don't like it Trae, leave.
