It's My Birthday! YAY!

Postby David Horn » Mar 13, 2004 @ 12:10pm

Yup, have to agree with Bjorn here! In the UK, you can drive a car (any hour of the night or day with up to six people in) from 17, drink and vote at 18. Curfews - isn't that against your human rights? (See, the EU is good for something.

Happy birthday Warren!

Here is Mass, permit at 16 (can only drive with parent or older sibling who's 18+), junior license at 16.5 (cannot drive with anyone else in the car, except if they're 21+), license at 17 (can drive with other people in car, but not between midnight and 5AM), then better license at 18 (can drive at all hours), then full license at 21 (horizontal card rather than vertical). And the state government has been trying to change the driving age to 18 (they've even tried for 21 a few years ago!).

Driving age in Kentucky is 14...

Oh, I can now also buy lethal weapons, though it's pointless to get them here when you can just go to Maine where they had out guns like candy.

And thank you for the cake! :D
I actually do have a real cake, it's Boston Creme (yes..ironic...), oh man, sooo delicious!

For my birthday, I got a crapload-a-monay for a laptop in a few months, and my parents got me a 256MB pen drive that looks like a real pen (and works too!).

Lowering the voting age is just stupid. 18 is already young enough to have uninformed people who have no idea how the world works vote. Trying to lower that age and/or increasing voting in 18 year olds who don't already feel the political charge to do so is stupid (and beneficial only to Democrats).
