If you have the shotgun/firearm where it is not readily visible by a patroller on the road then it is conceiled, in which case you need the license to have it. This means anything, like propped behind the seat, or in the trunk, or anywhere that isn't blattantly visible.
It's a simple 4 hour class to get a conceiled weapons license, with no exam at the end.
