Quake 4

Yes it does.

Athlon XP 1600+, 512MB RAM, ATI 9600XT. The last one is the key there. For a system like yours, I was expecting a 9800pro *minimum*

No, I've never seen that, I've never seen anyone drive their garbage out to the curb and bang the hell out of it with a stick. No, I've never seen that.

Says you.
Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

3.2 Athlon64 with 6600gt gets me about 80 in Doom3, yay.

The main difference in Q4 from D3 I think is going to be all the npcs, from what I've read theres going to be lots of marine squads fighting the war with you. Probably like Call of Duty + Quake + Doom3 I would assume, no more claustrophobia this time around at least.

I dont know why people are so fixated on that q4 dudes nipples, thats all I heard about when I first saw that pic a couple months ago.

I just hope they improve the gameplay from doom3, I dont know why they dont make enemys like the ol multiplayer bots in quake2 or 3, and use them in a single player game, something that will acctually play with some intelligence. Also they should make it so when you shoot at an enemy you see some sort of reaction that doesent look so damn generic. In doom3 when I pummel guys with my shottie I want to blast chunks of their body off, you know blast an arm or a leg or two off, or see them get blown back dynamically with some physics, is that too much to ask? And dont get me started on all those demons that like to sit and hide in closets and behind fake walls custom built for them no less.

I agree somewhat that the monster-closet is a bad gimmick. As for AI, the AI in Q2 or Q3 doesn't use cover. The D3 human AI was actually pretty smart. Having physics-based animation is also tough, how will the monster "know" to land on it's feet, or get up from any ragdoll position. Blowing off body parts would add nothing to the gameplay. (Same with alt-fire IMO)

I think physics attacks would add plenty to the gameplay. Shotgun plast an enemy off of a terrace into a lava pit, or keep a heavily armoured dude at bay with a chaingun. And it would just make it seem more effective. You'd get the feel for the power of the weapon.

Alt-fire was just a ridiculous UT idea. All it does is take up another one of my binds.

I honestly like alt-fire. Especially with the flakgun.
