I know, and it's a Compaq, can't even frickin' OPEN the case! You have to peel the back away to get to anything, and it's really designed not to be upgraded.
I just went super web surfing looking up prices of stuff, and figured what my future computer will cost. The total price will be around $1800 without shipping. It will include:
-iBuyPower.com Clear Computer Case w/ 400watt power supply and bundled cables (also fans)
-AMD 2200+ XP
-Shuttle AK35GTR Socket A Motherboard (may change, I don't know much about motherboards, but this comes with the AMD 2200+ all for $230 with 6 USB ports, pretty good)
-Radeon 9700 Pro 128Mb (may go with nVidia GeForce4 TI4600)
-512Mb DDR-RAM PC3000 (may go with PC2100)
-Western Digital 120Gb Hard Drive
-Sony Trinitron E540 21" Flat Screen CRT Monitor
-Sony DVD-R/RW Drive and maybe Sony 52x CD drive
-Sony 1.44" Floppy Drive
-Colored Keyboard and Mouse by Alienware from second party
-Creative Labs 5.1 Audigy 1394 (may go with xGamer)
-Creative Labs 5.1 5300 Speakers
-and miscellanious like heat sink, cooling stuff, and networking
All this should be enough to play UT2K3, Battlefield 1942, and run Doom III at like 100fps!
[edit]In the troubleshooting, it says it is complatable with the Voodoo3 card, but that it would run REAL slow. I think it's my CPU, because it also says that the game is very picky about CPU speed, and I'm 233Mhz below minimal requirements. And you shouldn't have any problems running it with an ATI.
